Can I mix my own sounds?
Yes — the Mix tab lets you layer any of the 12 sounds together, each with its
own volume slider (rain under crickets, wind over owls…). Your last mix is
remembered between launches.
What are scenes?
One-tap curated soundscapes in the Scenes tab: Rainforest Night, Windy Night,
Halloween Night, Thunderstorm, Ocean Escape, Fireside, Summer Night, and
Deep Sleep.
How does the sleep timer work?
Choose a preset from 15 minutes to 2 hours, or drag the custom slider up to
8 hours. Playback fades out gently over 2 minutes instead of cutting off.
What is sleep mode?
On iPhone and iPad, sleep mode shows a near-black bedside view with a dim
red clock and keeps the screen awake while it's up. Tap for play/exit
controls.
Does sound keep playing with the screen locked?
Yes — audio continues in the background with the screen locked, and you can
control play/pause and switch scenes from the Lock Screen or Control Center.
The sound paused by itself. Why?
Sleep Sounds pauses for incoming phone calls and resumes afterwards. It also
pauses if your headphones are unplugged, so it never blasts from the speaker
at 3am.
Does Sleep Sounds need an internet connection?
No. All sounds are bundled with the app and everything works fully offline.
What data does Sleep Sounds collect?
None. No account, no analytics, no ads. See our
